ikone productions is a video podcast production agency in Munich. We develop, shoot and edit video podcasts for companies, publishers and media houses, in our own studio in Munich or on location at your site.
From format development and multi-camera shoots to editing, graphics and social media clips, you get everything from a single source. Well-known formats such as “MUT, Der Deutschland Talk” and “Cathys Stammtisch” with Cathy Hummels were created with us, backed by more than 50 productions and over 10 million views including social clips.
If you are planning a video podcast, whether as a marketing channel, a recruiting tool or an editorial format, you have come to the right place.
What a video podcast does for your company
A video podcast combines the reach of YouTube with the loyalty of an audio podcast. A single recording gives you material for YouTube, Spotify, LinkedIn and short social clips at the same time: one shoot, many channels. That makes the format predictable and cost-efficient, instead of producing separately for every channel.
- Visibility
Regular episodes build reach and authority on your topics.
- Trust
Faces and real conversations come across as more credible than advertising copy.
- Repurposing
One episode turns into clips, quotes and posts for weeks.
Which communication goals companies use video podcasts for
Video podcasts suit communication tasks that need a face and a voice: board and leadership communication, internal communication in larger organisations, employer branding in recruiting, and B2B communication aimed at a specialist audience. For corporations and larger mid-sized companies, a format becomes a predictable communication channel rather than a one-off measure.
- Board & leadership communication
Convey management’s positions and stance credibly, internally and externally, in the studio or at the executive’s own workplace.
- Internal communication
Communicate strategy, change and culture across distributed locations, available on demand at any time.
- Employer branding
Recruiting formats in which real employees, not glossy brochures, show what the company is like.
- B2B specialist communication
Specialist topics for a niche audience that will listen to a face longer than it will read a white paper.

Studio in Munich and mobile on location
Our studio in Munich (Hofmannstraße 7a, 81379 München) is designed for video podcasts: multiple cameras, lighting and sound setup, different set variants. If your format belongs somewhere else, such as a trade fair, your headquarters or an event, we produce on location to the same technical standard. We can also add guests remotely if they cannot travel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does video podcast production cost?
The cost depends on scope, number of episodes and post-production. For a recurring format we quote per season, for one-off productions per shoot. Because several episodes can be recorded on one production day and the shoot day is only charged once, the cost per episode drops with every additional recording. In the initial call, we give you a concrete price range.
How quickly can we start?
That depends on the scope. For a recording without a new format setup, around 7 days between order and first shoot day are enough. If a complete format setup with custom set design is added, we plan around 4 weeks. We then normally deliver the finished episode within 5 working days of the shoot.
How long does it take from idea to first episode?
After the initial call and concept approval comes the lead time, around 7 days for a recording only, around 4 weeks with a full format setup, followed by the shoot and delivery of the finished episode within 5 working days. With a simple setup, your first episode can be online in about two to three weeks.
Can you shoot at our premises?
Yes. We produce in our studio in Munich and on location at your site with the same technical setup, with three cameras plus lighting and sound equipment. For guests in different places, we also record remotely.
Do we also get social media clips?
Yes. From every episode we cut vertical 9:16 clips of up to 60 seconds for Reels, Shorts and LinkedIn, either as a standard part of the package or on request.
Who owns the finished episodes?
You receive unrestricted usage rights to all content produced, unlimited in territory and time. The rights transfer upon full payment. Raw footage and project files remain with ikone and, for seasons, are usually kept for up to six months after the last episode.
How do you handle confidentiality and data protection?
On request, we work on the basis of a non-disclosure agreement. Recordings are submitted for your approval before publication, and formats intended for internal use only are not published by us but delivered exclusively to you. Personal data is processed in compliance with the GDPR.
How many rounds of revisions are included?
Usually one round of feedback per episode. It covers cuts as well as text, sound and image corrections. Restructuring the dramaturgy or a reshoot is quoted separately, and additional rounds are possible on request.
Do you also produce multilingual episodes?
German subtitles are standard. English subtitles and further language versions are available as an option, as are versions for international channels.
Are there GEMA fees for music and sound?
No. The sound branding is composed specifically for your format. There are no GEMA (German music rights) fees or licensing costs for the jingle, stingers and ambience.
